Prom Hair

The way you do up your hair for prom night does speak volumes about you. Normally one considers personality and look to begin and end with the dress, footwear and purse; but it does go beyond that. No, it is not just about the other accessories and make up, it encompasses even more. What is this even more? The hair!

Most people spend the least amount of time on their hair. After getting dressed up they would probably run a comb or brush through their hair and let it fall the way it usually does. No gel, no mousse, no hair spray, no style. And as a result they do not even realize that they look just the same as they do everyday. Prom hair should be styled in accordance to the attire you wear.

There are a number of books and magazines that recommend prom hairstyles according to the occasion. Or then you could visit a hairstylist for some tips on how to do up you hair for the special occasion. If you can afford it then have a hairstylist do your hair and make up. They know exactly what would look best on you.

It is not necessary to select a complicated prom hair design. It can be something basic with hair clips that match the dress or flowers pinned on the hair. The reason why most people prefer to have their hair gelled for such an occasion is because while dancing they do not want to keep brushing the hair off their faces. In case you are confused on how to style your hair for the prom, you could also take suggestions from the designer from whom you purchased the dress. They would definitely help you out with everything from footwear to hair do.

Hairstyle tips for going to the prom

Hairstyles Tips:

Prom hairstyles and makeup Whether you choose a loose and flowing prom hair style or a formal updo, this is the night for something special. If you opt for an updo don't let it be uptight; avoid "librarian" styles with hair pulled tight back off your face. A bit of looseness around your face is usually more flattering. Make sure your nails are in perfect condition, fingers and toes. Buff them to a sheen with a good buffer, or choose an elegant polish. It might be wise to choose a fairly neutral polish color. If you get a chip it won't show as much as with a dark shade. A lot of guys don't like the "blood-red-talons" look anyway. Use fragrance sparingly, just enough that when he's close he'll be aware of how good you smell. One reader wrote to me that something to watch out for is deodorant that leaves white smudges. Choose the kind that goes on clear. Above all, remember that when you're doing your makeup and hair, you want to look like a beautiful, enhanced version of you, not like someone else.
